Novenas on Catholic Truth

What is a Novena?

The word Novena comes from the Latin novenus, which means ninth, or consisting of nine. A novena is a prayer, or group of prayers, for some special object or occasion that typically extends over a period of nine consecutive days. It may be carried on in common in a church, but is often private. In its earliest form the novena was for the repose of a person deceased.

Listed below are several novenas. Select one and it will open in this window.
